What type of protection do you need?

Do I need a deadbolt?

A deadbolt is an added security measure. If your door only has a knob lock on it, and it’s an exterior door, you are much more vulnerable to a break in. What is a panic device?

A panic device or ‘crash bar’ is used in commercial settings. It is on exterior doors that occupants may use to escape in the event of an emergency. They can have key override, sound an alarm, and must be installed at a certain height to meet ADA code. The panic device allows occupants to run and ‘crash’ into the horizontal bar in the event of an emergency so they can freely exit without needing a key or finding the lever lock to exit.
